EVANSVILLE, Ind. – In their lone match of the spring, the University of Evansville volleyball team earned a decisive 3-1 victory over the University of Southern Indiana on Wednesday evening.
 
UE opened the contest with a 25-18 win before fending off a challenge to take a 2-0 lead on the strength of a 25-23 victory in the second set.  The Screaming Eagles overcame a 7-point deficit to win game three by a score of 27-25 before the Purple Aces put the finishing touches on the win in game four.  UE clinched the match with a 25-23 win.
 
"It was good to see the girls back on the court in a competitive situation," UE head volleyball coach Fernando Morales exclaimed.  "We were able to give playing time to everyone and we are happy with our performance."
 
Evansville was without the services of Melanie Feliciano, who is recovering from an injury.  Emilee Scheumann stepped up in her place and made a noticeable contribution to the win.
 
"We were up in every set and had a great performance overall," Morales continued.  "I am happy that everyone was able to get on the court.  We can see that the work the girls are putting in this spring is paying off."
