EVANSVILLE - With an announced crowd of over 1,100, the University of Evansville men's soccer team finished its preseason slate with a 4-0 win over Hanover on Sunday evening at Arad McCutchan Stadium in Evansville.

Free admission for all fans and the annual freshman dinner helped provide an electric atmosphere for the Aces exhibition finale and Evansville fed off of it on the pitch. Early opportunities from Jon Varela and Tancredi Fadda missed, but senior Nkosi Graham found the back of the net inside the first 15 minutes to open the scoring. A shot from Fadda ricocheted off the post, deflecting to the feet of Graham who smashed it into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.

The second for Evansville came just before the conclusion of the first 30 minutes as freshman Marc Vila got on the end of a corner from redshirt freshman Eyob McFarland and headed it past the Panther keeper to double UE's lead.

Continuing to apply pressure, the Aces got their third and fourth tallies in quick succession. In the 55th minute, Fadda received a cross from fellow freshman Ellis Amo and fired it into the back of the net. Less than six minutes later, freshman Nalu Wagner continued the first year trend, lobbing a cross into the box that freshman Patrick Szankowski clipped past the keeper to hand Evansville what would be its final margin of the night at 4-0.

On the evening, Evansville out-shot the Panthers, 16-4, putting eight attempts on frame. The Aces combined for the shutout between the posts with graduate Alex Vidizzoni, redshirt freshman Landon Amick, and junior Aidan Montoure each playing 30 minutes  and combining for three saves.

Evansville opens the regular season on Thursday with a trip to take on Bellarmine in Louisville, Ky. at 6 PM (CT).
