ST. LOUIS – University of Evansville sophomore golfer Daniil Romashkin was named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Second Team by the league on Tuesday.
 
The native of Moscow, Russia holds a 3.85 GPA and is a Business major at UE.  On the course, Romashkin wrapped up the 2023-24 campaign with a 73.91 stroke average, the lowest on the Purple Aces squad.  Nineteen of his 22 rounds finished in the 70's.
 
Romashkin's low round of the season was a 66 in the second round of the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate.  Finishing the event with a 7-under 209, Romashkin tied for the 9^th position.  At the Valpo Fall Invitational, he finished in a tie for third place with a 3-round tally of 219. 
 
His best spring finish was at the Tennessee State Big Blue Intercollegiate where ie tied for 10^th place.
