EVANSVILLE, Ind. – In its final weekend before the start of Missouri Valley Conference play, the University of Evansville softball team travels to North Alabama for a 3-game series. The Purple Aces and Lions meet up for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday with Sunday's finale set for 12 p.m.

Evansville split its four games last weekend in Conway, Arkansas. UE earned wins over Central Arkansas and defending Atlantic 10 champion Saint Louis. Emma McDonald batted .444 over the weekend and was named the MVC Newcomer of the Week on Tuesday. McDonald scored the game-winning run against the Billikens.

Friday's 5-4 win over UCA saw the Aces overcome an early 4-0 deficit to take the win. Maliyah Wilkins and Morgan Adams helped UE cut the deficit in half in the third inning before Brooke Voss and Taylor Howe scored in the fifth to tie the score. In the top of the seventh, Howe hit a leadoff double and would score the game-winner on an Adams single.

Sunday saw UE win a wild 12-11 contest against Saint Louis. Brooke Voss put together one of the top efforts of her career going 4-5 with three RBI, two runs, and a walk in the victory.

UE led 4-0 before the Billikens came back to tie the game. Helped by Angela Valentine's 2-run double in the fourth, UE went back up 8-4. Saint Louis battled back with a 7-run fifth frame to jump in front at 11-8. Evansville battled back to tie the score before winning in the 8
th. McDonald hit a 1-out triple before scoring on Voss' fourth hit of the game.

North Alabama opens the weekend at 10-4 following a 4-1 showing at last weekend's South Alabama Invitational. They earned two wins over Loyola before defeating West Georgia and UT Martin.
