EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Aces fell to 2-3-1 after a Saturday night loss to Southern Illinois. The first MVC match up for the Aces ends in a loss to put their conference record to 0-1-0.
The Salukis were first on the board with a goal in the 24th minute, and tacked on another in the 26th minute to make their lead 2-0 heading into the half. Throughout the first half Evansville was able to rack up four shots. Brielle LaBerge had 2 attempts while Josie Seehafer and Reagan Vaughn each added one.
Evansville came out of the half firing on all cylinders. In the 48th minute, Josie Seehafer sent a crosser straight to Brooklyn Robinson who knocked a header into the top right of the goal to cut the lead to 1. The play marked Robinson's third goal of the season and her first time scoring goals in back to back games since October 11th, 2025. Both offenses continued to fire away with Evansville out shooting Southern Illinois 7-5 in the second half. Goalkeeper Bri Chirpich tallied 3 saves during the second half.
With the loss, Evansville moves to 2-3-1 on the season. They return to conference action against Drake at home September 26th at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
