ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Following a strong performance in Evansville's first result of the season, Hugo Amo (Burgos, Spain/Casper CC) has been named Missouri Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Amo played all 90 minutes in goal for the Aces in Friday's 1-1 draw at Kentucky, recording two saves while helping lead an Evansville defense that blocked five shots.

The weekly honor is the first of Amo's career and is the first MVC weekly award for Evansville this season.

Through four matches, Amo ranks third in the MVC with 3.25 saves per game and sixth with 13 total saves.

Amo and the Purple Aces are back in action Tuesday evening for a non-conference matchup against No. 21 Louisville at Arad McCutchan Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., with the match streaming live on ESPN+.

Evansville will then travel to Lindenwood on Friday for its next road contest.
