EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Beginning on Saturday morning, the University of Evansville men’s golf team will be back on the course at the UK Bluegrass Fall Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
Play begins with a shotgun start Saturday at 8:30 a.m. as 36 holes will be played before the final 18 will take place on Sunday at 8 a.m. at the Big Blue Course.
This weekend will mark the second tournament for the Purple Aces, who opened up their fall season two weeks ago at the Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich. Senior
Griffin Wood led a late charge, which resulted in UE jumping two spots in the final day to finish in a tie for fifth place.
Wood shot a 4-under 68 in the final round en route to a third place tie with a three-round total of 218.
Michael Sainz carded a 226 while
Andrew Luo was the third-ranked Ace with a 229.
Fifteen institutions will be playing in the tournament, including Kentucky, Butler, Marshall and Dayton. Evansville is the lone Missouri Valley Conference school in the event.
