9/5/2011 2:56:00 PM

MURRAY, Ky. – On Tuesday, the Purple Aces volleyball team will take to the court to face Murray State at 6 p.m. in their final road game prior to the Dunn Hospitality Invitational.

Tuesday’s match will mark the second time the squads will meet over the course of four days. They last met on Saturday morning in the Marriott Volley Brawl, which was hosted by Valparaiso.

The Aces dropped the Racers by a 3-1 count in Saturday’s match behind a 14-kill performance by Lauren Seyller. After falling in the first game, 26-24, UE quickly regrouped to take the next three sets. Brooke Maher, who garnered All-Tournament Team honors, notched 12 kills. Sophomore Jenn Murphy tallied 12 assists while Katie Klages led UE defensively with 15 digs.

Murray State enters their home opener with an 0-7 mark and have won just two sets while dropping 21. Last season, MSU was 15-17 and a strong 7-3 on their home floor.

On Friday, UE will return home for the first time as it will host the Dunn Hospitality Invitational at the Carson Center. Evansville opens up play in the event at 4 p.m. against Southeast Missouri State.

Evansville will face off against UIC at 10 a.m. Saturday before wrapping up the tournament against Pac-12 member Arizona, who began the season receiving votes in the AVCA poll.
