INDIANAPOLIS – Freshman
Paige Crafton shot a 79 as the University of Evansville women’s golf team sits in ninth place following the opening round of play at the Butler Invitational.
Due to frost on the course, the squads had roughly a 3-hour delay and played just one round on Monday.
Crafton is tied for 23
rd following the opening round of play. Just behind her is
Sydney Skiles, who tallied an 81 and sits in a tie for 30
th.
Cathy Doyle and
Kelly Lamarche recorded rounds of 84 while
Dana Hayden carded an 86. Shooting as an individual,
Rachel Marchi notched a 102.
Bowling Green leads the way in the event with a 300 while there is a three-way tie for second as Bradley, IUPUI and Eastern Illinois each notched a 305.
Shelby Wilson of BGSU leads the individuals as she notched a 71 to go into the final day of play with a one stroke lead over Danielle Lemek of Bradley.
