EVANSVILLE, Ind. – On Monday, the Purple Aces men’s and women’s golf teams will be playing in the Butler Spring Invitational, which will be held at Prestwick Country Club in Avon, Ind.
On the men’s side, Butler, Valparaiso, Evansville, IUPUI, Dayton, South Dakota, Loyola, Cleveland State, Robert Morris and Detroit are set to participate while the women’s field will consist of Butler, Valparaiso, Evansville, Cleveland State, IUPUI and Eastern Washington.
The men’s par is 72 with the yardage set for 6,960 while the women will face a par of 71 with 5,980 yards.
Both Aces squads last saw action on March 13
th at the Don Benbow Invitational. The men took third place while the women finished 11
th.
Parker Hensley finished in a tie for 14
th place after shooting an even 71 in the final round. He was one stroke ahead of the duo of
Michael Sainz and
Andrew Luo, who tallied two-round totals of 148.
On the women’s side,
Sydney Skiles was the top finisher, tying for 35th with a 167 (80-87).
Cathy Doyle was two shots behind with a 169, which tied her for 43rd.
Lauren Ellerman notched a 172 while
Dana Hayden had a 175 and
Alyssa Key notched a 181.
Following the action in Avon, the teams will go in different directions. The men will play in the Hoosier Invitational, set for April 7 and 8 while the women will take part in the Belmont Invitational, set for April 2 and 3 in Nashville, Tenn.
