Day 3 / Final Results

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Evansville Purple Aces swimming & diving teams competed in the House of Champions meet this weekend in Indianapolis, with multiple athletes finishing with personal bests.

The Lady Aces finished the weekend in third place with a final score of 1219.5, finishing behind Green Bay and IUPUI. On the men's side, the Aces finished with a final score of 1014, placing them in fifth place behind IUPUI, Green Bay, Lewis and Western Illinois.

On Sunday, Michelle Tipton finished in first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.77, in the B-Heat Abby Smith finished first with a time of 53.27 and Mackenzie Harris finished third with a time of 53.34.

Mackenzie Powell finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:21.23 and Melissa Thurman finished fifth with a time of 2:25.27.

The men's team was highlighted on Sunday by Ashton Bishop finishing in third place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 45.91, Troy Burger also finished in third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:03.59.

UE will swim again on Dec. 6 at Lindsay Wilson/Cumberland College in a dual meet at 6:00 p.m. in Columbia, Ky.
