EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women's swimming & diving team will compete this Friday against the University of Houston. The meet will take place at Castle High School in Newburgh, IN at 2:00 p.m. due to technical difficulties with UE's home pool.
This will be the first meet for the Aces since the House of Champions Meet in Indianapolis on Nov. 22 – 24.
The Aces look to continue their strong season against Houston, who comes in after a 3
rd place finish at the Phill Hansel Invite, which was held on Nov. 21 – 23.
For UE this season junior
Michelle Tipton ranks fourth in the MVC in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.77, third in the MVC in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.60 and fifth in the MVC in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:58.88.
Fellow junior
Mackenzie Powell has also been terrific this season. Powell ranks second in two events in the MVC, the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.77 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:21.23.
For Houston, Senior Heather Winn comes in ranked sixth in the AAC in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:51.50 and fourth in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:20.64.
The meet will be held at Castle High School as stated above.
Castle is located at 3344 Indiana 261, Newburgh, IN 47630. The Aces will swim again on Jan. 18 at 2:00 p.m. against Miami (Ohio). That will be dual meet and will also be held at Castle.
