UE GAME NOTES | BRADLEY GAME NOTES
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – After playing back to back matches on the road, the University of Evansville men's soccer team (2-8, 0-2 MVC) is back at home to host Bradley University (4-7, 1-0 MVC) on Saturday, Oct. 10. The match will be held at Arad McCutchan Stadium and begin at 2:00 p.m. CDT.
WHAT TO KNOW- Senior forward Mark Anthony Gonzalez is one goal shy of his 25th career goal
- This is the 800th match in program history (425-311-63)
- The Purple Aces are home for the first time since Sept. 29
- UE is looking to end a season-high five game losing streak
- After the conclusion of the men's soccer match, the Evansville women's soccer team will take the field, hold their Senior Day festivities and host Drake at 6:00 p.m.
THE OPPONENT:Bradley began the season by winning three of their first four matches, but most recently, have lost six of their last seven. The Braves were also defeated in their last contest 1-0 at Western Illinois (Oct. 5) but did win their MVC opener against Loyola 1-0 (Sept. 25). BU has tallied only eight goals this season, three of which have been scored by freshman forward Frank Bak. Senior forward Grant Bell boasts half of the team's eight assists. Junior goalkeeper Logan Ketterer has played all 1010 minutes in net for the Braves, amassing 50 saves and posting a 1.52 goals against average.
HISTORYBradley holds the 15-9-1 lead in the all-time series with the Purple Aces. UE is 4-7-1 in matches played at Arad McCutchan Stadium. Evansville's last home win over Bradley was a 2-1 victory (Nov. 7, 2009).

LAST MEETINGEvansville fell 1-0 in the 2014 MVC Tournament Quarterfinals to Bradley. The Braves utilized an 11
th minute goal for the victory. UE totaled 19 shots in the match including a final second blast from
Nate Opperman that sailed high as time expired. Faik Hajderovic tallied a team-high four shots for UE as Dylan Terry also had three shots in the match.
LAST HOME MEETINGThe 2013 Evansville Senior Day was spoiled with a 2-1 double overtime defeat to Bradley. An 88
th minute goal from Gonzalez forced overtime but the Braves tallied the game winner in the 107
th minute.
LAST TIME OUTThe Purple Aces were defeated 4-1 at #20 Kentucky (Oct. 7). Freshman forward
Zac Blaydes scored the lone goal on a 72nd minute penalty kick. He scored the milestone goal just 20 minutes from his hometown of Midway, Ky.
LEADING OFFGonzalez has a team-high four goals, and nine points this season. Nine different Aces have combined for the 12 assists this year, including a team-best three from Blaydes. Sophomore midfielder

ONE SHY OF A MILESTONEGonzalez has 24 goals at UE. His next goal will tie Andrew Norton (1983-86) for 11th most in program history. With two goals, Gonzalez will be in ninth place with Rune Bjoro (1980-83) and Mike Luttrull (2007-10).
REACHING A MILESTONEThe Saturday night game against Bradley is the 800
th match in UE men's soccer history (425-311-63).
TOP TIER COMPETITIONEvansville has played two NSCAA ranked teams this season (#24 Bowling Green, #20 Kentucky) and two other teams that were featured in the NSCAA Poll at other points this season (#21 Butler, #10 Indiana).
UP FOR THE CHALLENGEEvansville's schedule features three NCAA Tournament teams from last year (Indiana, Kentucky, St. Louis). The Aces will take on two teams that finished in the final RPI top 25 last season (Indiana 16, St. Louis 22) and seven in the top 100 (Bowling Green 64, Butler 68, Missouri St. 76, Mercer 86, and Lipscomb 97).
WHAT AN HONORUE men's soccer player (1985-'87) Mick Lyon was announced as a 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Hall of Famer in August. In a homecoming on field ceremony, the press boxes at Arad McCutchan Stadium were named in honor of Lyon and longtime men's soccer coach Fred Schmalz. The 1985 Final Four team will also be inducted into the UE Hall of Fame in 2016.
IN THE CLASSROOMUE men's soccer received an NSCAA College Team Academic Award (Sept. 23) for their 3.14 GPA in the 2014-15 academic year. This is their fourth straight year receiving the honor and ninth overall.
IAN ON NBCFor the second time this season, a goal from McGrath has been featured on NBC Sports. His 22 yard game-winning blast vs. Belmont (Sept. 6) appeared on the NBC Sports Platforms this past week. McGrath's 35 yard strike against Mercer (Aug. 20) also appeared on NBC Sports during the exhibition season.
NUMBER ONEThe Aces have a new head coach this season,
Marshall Ray, who claimed his first win as UE men's soccer coach in the team's 2-1 win over Belmont (Sept. 6). A former player (1995-'99) at Evansville, Ray graduated from UE in 2000 and has served on the staff for nine years with the last six as Associate Head Coach.
POSITIVE PRESEASONThe UE men's soccer team finished the preseason 2-1-0 including victories over Bellarmine and Mercer. McGrath and freshman forward
Mikey Matic each tallied two goals each.
PROMO SCHEDULEIndiana Youth Soccer Night is Saturday, Oct. 24 against Missouri State when kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CDT. Senior Night will take place Tuesday, Nov. 3 when UE plays host to Northern Kentucky. Both matches are set for 7:00 p.m. CDT starts at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
