EVANSVILLE, Ind. - After suffering a heartbreaking overtime loss to Marshall, the University of Evansville women's basketball team travels to face Morehead State on Sunday afternoon in Morehead, Ky..

The Purple Aces head back on the road following a 72-65 overtime loss at Marshall in Huntington, W.V. on Thursday evening. In the opening half, Evansville grabbed the lead and held onto it at the halftime break, leading the Herd, 29-28. Coming out of the half, Marshall put together a 9-0 run to open up a 37-29 advantage over the Aces that was cut to seven at 50-43 heading into the fourth quarter. Much like the Herd did in the third quarter, Evansville manufactured a run of its own in the fourth, as the Aces took a 53-50 lead after the 10-0 run to begin the quarter. UE pushed its lead to six at 58-52 with under five minutes remaining, but Marshall battled back to tie the match at 61 and force overtime. Early in the overtime period, Marshall opened up an advantage, but Evansville responded, moving within one at 66-65 on a jumper by junior Kaylan Coffman with just 1:24 remaining in overtime. To close the game, the Herd answered, scoring six-straight points and holding off the Aces in Marshall's 72-65 overtime win.

A pair of Aces set career highs in Thursday's contest at Marshall with redshirt junior Marley Miller scoring a career-best 20 points on six made three-pointers and Coffman recording a career-high 11 rebounds in the game. Miller's career-high performance much resembles her previous career-best; a 17-point effort on the road at Western Kentucky a season ago. In both contests, the game represented Evansville's first game after Thanksgiving with both occurring on the Thursday after the holiday. Both Marshall and Western Kentucky are members of Conference USA and both performances included more than half of Miller's points coming from beyond the arc.

Sunday's game represents the fifth meeting all-time between Evansville and Morehead State with the Aces owning a 3-1 advantage in the series. Last meeting just last season, the Eagles earned an 82-75 win over Evansville in a game that the Aces tied at 71 with 3:10 to go before Morehead State hit free throws down the stretch to secure the victory. Of the four all-time meetings, just once have the Aces and Eagles met in Morehead, Ky. with Evansville picking up the 78-67 win on Nov. 19, 2007. Entering the matchup, Morehead State holds a 6-2 record and is coming off an 87-57 loss at Kentucky on Wednesday. The Eagles boast four double-digit scorers, led by Miranda Crockett and Aliyah Jeune who combine to average 39.5 points per game.
