Aces drop final contest of 2018 at Wisconsin

Pacing the Purple Aces was senior Marley Miller who finished with a career-high 21 points, hitting a trio of three-pointers, while adding four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. A pair of Aces also tied career-highs as junior Kaylan Coffman (11 points) and senior Tattenai Hall (five) each tied their career-bests. Leading the way for the Badgers, Marsha Howard tied Miller with a game-high 21 points as Wisconsin had four student-athletes in double-figures.

To open the contest, Wisconsin jumped out to a 10-2 lead over the Aces with 7:37 remaining in the first quarter. Evansville responded, cutting the Badgers' lead to 10-7 on a jumper by Coffman. Closing the quarter, Wisconsin went on a 13-4 run, holding a 23-11 advantage following the opening period. In the second quarter, Wisconsin pushed its lead to 24, taking a 48-24 lead at the halftime break.

After the Badgers increased their lead to 73-29 with 4:10 left in the third, but the Aces answered. Evansville continued to push, cutting Wisconsin's lead to 79-45 as the Aces scored 21 points in the period, tied for the second-most points they have scored in a quarter this season. The fourth quarter saw the Badgers maintain their lead, outscoring Evansville 17-15 in the quarter, as Wisconsin captured the 96-60 win.

For the game, Wisconsin shot 52.2% (36-69) from the field while Evansville was 21-62 (33.9%) on the night. The Aces held a decisive advantage from the free-throw line, hitting 91.7% (11-12) of their attempts to just 51.7% (15-29) for the Badgers.

The Aces take a 13-day break from competition for the holidays before opening Missouri Valley Conference play on January 4 against SIU in Carbondale, Ill..
