Aces return home to host UIC

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - After a two-game road swing last week, the University of Evansville women's basketball team is back inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse for a contest with UIC at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

The Purple Aces challenged Morehead State in their last game on Sunday in Morehead, Ky.. Keeping pace with the Eagles through the first half, Evansville went to the half trailing Morehead State by six at 46-40. To open the third quarter, the Aces went on a 7-0 run to take the lead with 5:26 remaining in the period. Morehead State responded to Evansville's run with a 20-0 run of their own to close the quarter, owning a 66-47 advantage into the fourth. In the final 10 minutes, Evansville trimmed its deficit to 14 points midway through the quarter, but the Eagles pushed their lead to 22 in Morehead State's 85-63 win.

A pair of Aces set career highs in Thursday's contest at Marshall with redshirt junior Marley Miller scoring a career-best 20 points on

Last week, redshirt junior Marley Miller produced one of the best weeks of her collegiate career. Against Marshall on Thursday, Miller recorded a career-high 20-point performance, hitting six three-pointers in the 72-65 overtime loss. On Sunday at Morehead State, Miller continue her strong week, scoring 13 points and tallying six boards in Evansville's 85-63 loss to the Eagles. 

Evansville and UIC are meeting for the 14th time in series history with the Aces owning a 9-4 advantage in the all-time series. The two sides last met a year ago as UIC earned a 96-77 win in Chicago, Ill. on Dec. 16, 2017. At home, Evansville owns a decisive advantage in the series, capturing victories in all five games played in Evansville. Coming into Wednesday evening's matchup, the Flames hold a 1-5 record and have lost five-straight games after opening the season with a 75-65 win over Valparaiso on Nov.. 7. UIC is familiar with Missouri Valley Conference competition this season having captured a win over Valpo to begin the year and falling to Loyola, 75-60, on Nov. 17.
