Box Score EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Three seniors scored in double-figures as the University of Evansville women's basketball team fell to SEMO, 54-50, on Saturday afternoon inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
Pacing Evansville were seniors Kerri Gasper and Marley Miller who each finished with 12 points on the afternoon. Gasper recorded her third double-double of the season with 11 rebounds to go along with her 12 points, while Miller marked her fourth-straight game with three or more triples, hitting four of five attempts from beyond the arc against the Redhawks. Also putting together a double-digit scoring performance for the Aces was senior Brooke Bishop who finished with 10 points.

After SEMO held a narrow 30-27 lead at the break, Evansville went on a 14-3 run to push out to a seven-point lead with 2:09 left in the third quarter. The Redhawks worked back within two heading into the final 10 minutes, as Losmie Lutaya hit a layup with five seconds left in the quarter to cut SEMO's deficit. An evenly played game, the contest was decided in the fourth quarter as SEMO out-scored the Aces, 13-7, including an 11-2 run to being the period. Both teams struggled to find their shooting touch in the final quarter as the Redhawks shot 25% (3-12) from the field while Evansville went 1-11 (9.1%) in the period. Despite SEMO's run, Evansville had its opportunities in the fourth quarter. Trailing by four with under 30 seconds remaining, the Redhawks missed a layup that was rebounded by Gasper. As Gasper tried to clear herself from traffic, SEMO tied up Gasper with the possession arrow in the Redhawks' favor. On the ensuing possession, SEMO was fouled and missed a pair of free throws, but secured the offensive rebound, making one of two shots at the line to increase its lead to five. With under five seconds remaining, Evansville trimmed its deficit to three on two free-throws from Gasper, but following a foul, SEMO's Adrianna Murphy hit one of two attempts at the line, earning the Redhawks' the 54-50 win.
Evansville returns to action with a road matchup with Dayton on Saturday, December 15 at 6:00 p.m. (CT) in Dayton, Ohio.
