CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - After a successful meet at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational last Friday, the University of Evansville men's and women's track and field teams travel to Clarksville, Tenn. to compete in the Austin Peay Invitational on Friday.
Originally scheduled to be a two-day invitational, the competition was trimmed to a single day on Friday due to forecasted inclement weather on Saturday.
Evansville is coming of a weekend in which they competed at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational in Owensboro, Ky. At the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational, the Purple Aces earned a pair of individual event victories and set six program records. Evansville's outing was highlighted by two individual victories, both coming from the Aces' women's squad. The first victory came from Samantha Bittner who set her second outdoor program record with a time of 1:16.15 in the 400 meter hurdles. UE earned its second win of the night in the women's 4x400 meter relay where the Aces earned the event victory in a time of 4:28.10.
Action opens at the invitational at 10 a.m. with all field events besides high jump and javelin, while competition on the track begins at 2 p.m. with the men's and women's 4x400 meter relays. Live results are available for the meet
