Northern road trip ahead for Aces

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Opening the road trip north, the University of Evansville heads to the Windy City for a matchup with Loyola on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in Chicago, Ill..

Last Game: Illinois State 72, Evansville 61 (Evansville, Ind., Jan. 13)
  • The Aces fell to Illinois State, 72-61, on Sunday afternoon to close out the home MVC weekend.
  • Scoring a team-best 17 points for the second-time this week, senior Kerri Gasper moved closer to a career milestone. Gasper sits just eight points away from becoming the 20th Purple Ace in program history to reach 1,000 career points.
  • In her 17-point performance, Gasper also recorded eight rebounds, giving her 431 rebounds in her career.
  • Freshman Makayla Wallace continued her strong form in MVC play, scoring 13 points, while adding three assists, two rebounds, and a steal in 24 minutes for Evansville.
  • Against Illinois State, junior Kaylan Coffman tallied a pair of blocks, bringing her season total to 22. Coffman sits in a tie for 85th in the nation in block rate, blocking 8.1% of the Aces' opponent's two-point shot attempts.
  • Through 15 games, the Aces have limited their turnovers as a team, committing just 15 per game this season, placing Evansville in first in the MVC.
  • For the second-straight game, UE attempted 20-or-more free throws, hitting 18 at the line.

Next Opponent: at Loyola

  • Evansville and Loyola are meeting for the 35th time in series history.
  • In the last meeting between the two sides, the Ramblers earned a 60-47 win over Evansville on Feb. 23, 2018 in Evansville, Ind..
  • The Aces are looking for their first win in the series with Loyola since a Mar. 2, 2017 when Evansville captured a 81-50 victory over the Ramblers in Chicago, Ill..
