Box Score VALPARAISO, Ind. - On the road to finish an MVC road trip north, the University of Evansville women's basketball team fell to Valparaiso, 93-49, on Sunday afternoon in Valparaiso, Ind..
Leading the way for Evansville were redshirt senior Brooke Bishop and freshman Sydney Tucker, who each scored nine points. Tucker added three rebounds to go along with her nine points, both career-highs. Valpo was paced by Grace Hales, who finished with 21 points, on 8-of-9 shooting from the field, hitting three triples.
In the game, Valparaiso found its rhythm midway through the first quarter, shooting 58.3% (35-60) from the field and 45.8% (11-24) from three on the game to just 15-51 (29.4%) from the field for the Aces and 6-23 (26.1%) from beyond the arc.
The Aces grabbed an 8-2 lead early in the opening quarter, but Valparaiso responded with a 23-6 run to close the period and take a 25-14 lead after the first quarter. In the second period, Valpo's run continued, building a 47-28 advantage at the half.

Coming out of the break, Valparaiso built its advantage as large as 47 in the third quarter as Valpo held an 82-35 lead heading into the fourth. Evansville responded in the fourth period, limiting Valpo to 11 points in the quarter and earning a 14-11 advantage in the frame. As a team, the Aces recorded their best shooting quarter of the game in the fourth, shooting 41.7% from the field and 50% from three as Valparaiso picked up the 94-49 win.
Evansville returns home for a three-game homestand beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday as the Aces host UNI inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
