  • The Aces were led by a career-best performance by senior Jada Poland, who finished with 23 points, including 14 points in the second half.
  • Joining Poland in double-figures was freshman Abby Feit who scored her fifth-straight double-figure performance with 17 points.
  • Maggie Knowles led the Governors offensively, scoring 25 points in Austin Peay's win.
  • Austin Peay gained the early advantage as the Governors scored the first eight points of the contest.
  • Evansville responded to the early Governors run, scoring six straight points of its own, to move within a pair at the under five media timeout.
  • In all, the Aces held the Governors scoreless for nearly four minutes and tying the game at eight with 3:49 left in the quarter.
  • To close the opening period, Austin Peay went on another run, this one 11-2, to take a 19-10 lead after the first quarter.
  • The deficit increased for Evansville in the second quarter as the Governors increased their lead to 12 at 29-17 with 5:30 left in the half.
  • Evansville again had an answer and closed the half with an impressive defensive performance. The Aces held Austin Peay to just one point over the final five-and-a-half minutes, while scoring consistently to cut the Governors' lead to just one at the half.
  • Evansville put together a valiant effort in the third quarter as the Aces quickly went in front on a layup by freshman Jossie Hudson.
  • After Austin Peay retook the lead, the Aces tied the game at 37 as Poland scored six of the first eight UE points out of the break.
  • The Governors moved back into the lead and would grow their lead as high as eight, but Evansville cut it back down to five with 10 minutes remaining.
  • In the fourth quarter, the Governors began the period with a 7-0 run to take a 60-48 lead. The Governors exploded offensively in the second half, scoring 50 points after a 30-point first half, pulling away for the 80-64 win.
  • In the loss, Evansville broke the program record for best field-goal percentage, shooting 63.9% (23-36) from the field, besting the previous program record of 62.5% set against Troy on Dec. 18, 2014.
  • The Aces avoided the rebounding disparity that disrupted them against EIU on Tuesday, but were forced into 33 turnovers by a stifling Governors' press.
Previewing the Matchup
  • Evansville and Marshall are meeting for just the fourth time in series history with the Thundering Herd holding a 2-1 advantage in the series.
  • The Aces and Herd last met on Nov. 29, 2018 in a thriller in Huntington, W.V. that saw Marshall capture a 72-65 win in overtime.
  • Current members of the Aces' team scored 23 of Evansville's 65 points in last season's loss to Marshall, led by eight points by Anna Newman.
  • Sunday's meeting is the first ever between the two sides inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse and the first in Evansville since Marshall earned a 60-48 win over the Aces at the Ford Center on Dec. 3, 2011.
  • Freshman Abby Feit looks to continue her streak of double-figure scoring performances, currently sitting at five-straight 10+ point outings, having scored double-digits in every collegiate game of her career.
  • The Aces will look to limit their turnovers against the Herd after committing 64 turnovers in the last two contests.
  • Against Austin Peay, Evansville broke the single-game program record for field-goal percentage, hitting 63.9% from the field, making 23 of its 36 attempts.
  • Marshall enters Sunday's contest with a 3-2 overall record and are coming off a narrow 57-52 home loss to Morgan State on Thursday night.
