MVC Release

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - After an impressive debut weekend for the Aces, University of Evansville women's basketball junior guard Lola Bracy was named Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week, it was announced in a release by the conference office on Monday.

Making her debut for the Aces this past weekend, Bracy helped lead Evansville on the road at Purdue Fort Wayne and Illinois. Against the Mastodons on Friday night, Bracy poured in a team-high 25 points, scoring Evansville's first five points of the night and recording 16 points in the first half. Bracy also recorded three rebounds and three steals against Purdue Fort Wayne. On Sunday, Bracy continued her strong opening weekend with 15 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while drawing five fouls on the Illini. 

The honor is the second of the season for the Aces after freshman Abby Feit was named conference newcomer of the week on Nov. 11 after setting an MVC record for points in a freshman debut with 26 points against Brescia.

Evansville returns to action on Wednesday when the Aces host Chicago State inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse at 6 PM for their Ugly Christmas Sweater game.
