EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Inclement weather in the Nashville area has forced the University of Evansville baseball team's match-up with #2 Vanderbilt from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm Wednesday night.

SETTING THE SCENE:  •The Purple Aces come into this midweek match-up on the heels of their first victory of the season, avoiding a sweep at the hands of Mercer with a 7-2 win this past Sunday.

THE OPPOSITION:  •The top-ranked Commodores are coming off a big weekend in the MLB4 Collegiate Baseball Tournament, where they outslugged perennial powers Virginia and #19 Cal State-Fullerton 15-9 and 14-9, respectively. However, Vandy fell in the Sunday finale to #10 Texas Christian University, 10-2, and have dropped to #2 in the Nation.

THE PITCHING MATCHUP:  •  The game will open with a pair freshman rightys, with UE's Shane Gray facing off against Vandy's Chance Huff .

ALL-TIME SERIES:  • Vanderbilt holds the all-time edge in this non-conference series, leading the Purple Aces 32-16 over the years. The two teams last met last season with the Commodores beating the Aces 6-1 at Hawkins Field. The fairly frequent series dates back to 1950.  

First pitch has been moved from 4:30 pm tp 6:30 pm central time at Vanderbilt's Hawkins Field, due to inclement weather in the Nashville area.
