Box Score EVANSVILLE, Ind. - In a battle with postseason implications on the line, the University of Evansville women's basketball team dropped an MVC matchup to Missouri State, 88-46, on Thursday evening inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.

Leading the way for the Aces, senior Brooke Bishop finished with a game-high 16 points. Recording five points, seven rebounds, and four assists was senior Kerri Gasper who tallied her fifth game in the last seven with seven-or-more rebounds. Missouri State was paced by a pair of 14-point scorers in Jasmine Franklin and Sydney Wilson. Controlling the board, the Bears out-rebounded Evansville, 60-28, including 21-7 on offensive rebounds.

A crucial stretch of the first quarter in which the Bears went on a 15-2 run was the deciding factor in the contest as Missouri State held a 28-11 lead after the opening quarter. The lead grew as large as 21 in the final moments of the second quarter as the Bears took a 43-22 lead at the break. In the opening half, Missouri State held a decisive advantage on the boards, 29-14, including 12 offensive rebounds for the Bears to four for Evansville.

After the Aces scored five-straight points to open the second half, Missouri State responded with an 8-2 run, eventually increasing its lead as high as 30 at 70-40 at the end of the third quarter. Missouri State continued its strong shooting effort in the final period as the Bears hit six of their first nine shots, capturing the 88-46 win.

Evansville closes out the regular season with Senior Day on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Southern Illinois inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
