1/19/2020 2:06:00 PM

Box Score DES MOINES, Iowa - On the road in conference competition, the University of Evansville women's basketball team dropped its road-trip concluding contest at Drake, 108-44, on Sunday afternoon in Des Moines, Iowa.

Leading Evansville on the day was freshman Abby Feit, who finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Adding to the Aces' offense was freshman Sydne Caddy, who hit three triples to set a new career-high with nine points. Five Bulldogs finished in double-figures, led by Becca Hittner and Brenni Rose, who each recorded 16 points.

Much like Friday night, the Aces found themselves in an early hole due to a hot shooting opponent. Drake sprinted out of the gate on an 11-0 run as Becca Hittner scored six points in the first 2:40, forcing an Aces timeout. Out of the timeout, Drake scored eight more unanswered points to build its advantage to 19-0. Evansville scored its first basket of the first quarter just past the five-minute mark on a basket and the foul for Feit who converted on the free throw. After Feit's basket, the Bulldogs went on another run, this one a 15-0 spree to take a 34-3 lead after the first period.

Evansville began to find its offense in the second period. After scoring three points in the first quarter, Evansville scored 11 in the second quarter, eventually getting within 34 at 46-12 with just under five minutes remaining in the half. Again the Bulldogs' defense clamped down, holding Evansville to just two points in the final 4:45 and going on a 10-2 run to take a 56-14 lead at the break.

After the half, Drake opened the third quarter with a 25-2 run that pushed the Bulldogs' lead as high as 55. Sydne Caddy caught fire in the third period, helping provide an offensive spark for the Aces. Caddy hit three-straight three-pointers on three-straight possessions to fuel her best scoring game of her collegiate career. Despite Caddy's offense, Drake answered the Aces, maintaining a 55-point lead after three quarters.

The fourth quarter saw the deficit fluctuate for the Aces as the two sides traded baskets. Evansville scored 13 points in the period, but the Bulldogs offense continued to roll with 17 points in the quarter as Drake earned the 108-44 win.

Evansville returns home for a pair of contests next weekend as the Aces host SIU and Missouri State on January 24 and 26.
