2020 opens for Aces at Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. - Beginning Missouri Valley Conference competition, the University of Evansville women's basketball team travels to take on Bradley on Friday night at 7 PM in Peoria, Ill.

Last Game: Miami (Ohio) 72, Evansville 64
  • Three Aces finished in double-figures in the game, led by junior Lola Bracy with 17 points and eight rebounds. 
  • Freshman Abby Feit stuffed the stat sheet for Evansville, earning her second career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds along with three blocks.
  • Junior Alexis Thomas also finished in double-digits with 12 points on four three-pointers.
  • The story of the game for Evansville was putting together runs and trimming away at double-digit deficits, battling to keep itself within striking distance in the contest.
  • Evansville looked to have found something at the end of the first quarter and second quarter as the Aces out-scored the RedHawks, 7-2, during a four-minute span.
  • After the Aces took a 21-18 lead, Miami sparked an important 10-0 that featured two trips to the free-throw line and a three-pointer to gain a 28-21 advantage for the RedHawks.
  • Despite numerous attempts from the Aces to make a dent in Miami's lead at the half, the RedHawks held a 12-point margin at the break.
  • The lead grew to 17 for Miami in the third quarter, but the Aces scored five-straight cut the RedHawks lead back to their halftime advantage.
  • At the end of the third quarter, Evansville got back within single-digits at 54-45. 
  • Later in the game, Evansville would push to within eight, but the Aces could not draw any closer in the 72-64 loss.
Previewing the Matchup
  • Evansville and Bradley are meeting for just the 54th time in the series history with the Braves owning a 33-20 edge in the series.
  • Bradley took both of last season's meetings, winning 75-68 on Jan. 11 in Evansville and coming out victorious, 81-63, in Peoria, Ill. on Feb. 10, 2019.
  • The Aces and Braves are both coming off nearly a two-week break from competition when they meet on Friday night.
  • Evansville is looking for its first road victory in Peoria since March 16, 2014 in a 73-55 Aces' win over the Braves.
  • Despite just winning one road game in conference in the past two seasons, the Aces are searching for their second-straight road win in the MVC after defeating Indiana State, 59-56, in their road finale last season.
  • Sunday will be the first MVC action for the Aces' top three scorers as juniors Lola Bracy and Jada Poland and freshman Abby Feit are in their first season with Evansville.
  • Six current Aces have started a road game in the Missouri Valley Conference heading into Friday, but of those, only three have also started a game this season.
  • Evansville has racked-up the steals this season, sitting in 80th in the nation in steals per game with 9.8 per contest. The Braves allow over nine steals per game, including four games with 10 or more steals allowed.
  • Bradley enters conference play with a 9-2 record with its lone two losses coming at Michigan (77-57) and in a neutral site contest with Liberty (Dec. 20).
  • The last home loss for the Braves came on Jan. 18, 2019 in a 68-56 loss to Missouri State.
