Last Game: Drake 108, Evansville 44
  • Leading Evansville on the day was freshman Abby Feit, who finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.
  • Adding to the Aces' offense was freshman Sydne Caddy, who hit three triples to set a new career-high with nine points.
  • Five Bulldogs finished in double-figures, led by Becca Hittner and Brenni Rose, who each recorded 16 points.
  • Much like Friday night, the Aces found themselves in an early hole due to a hot shooting opponent. Drake sprinted out of the gate on an 11-0 run as Becca Hittner scored six points in the first 2:40, forcing an Aces timeout.
  • Out of the timeout, Drake scored eight more unanswered points to build its advantage to 19-0.
  • Evansville scored its first basket of the first quarter just past the five-minute mark on a basket and the foul for Feit who converted on the free throw.
  • After Feit's basket, the Bulldogs went on another run, this one a 15-0 spree to take a 34-3 lead after the first period.
  • Evansville began to find its offense in the second period. After scoring three points in the first quarter, Evansville scored 11 in the second quarter, eventually getting within 34 at 46-12 with just under five minutes remaining in the half.
  • Again the Bulldogs' defense clamped down, holding Evansville to just two points in the final 4:45 and going on a 10-2 run to take a 56-14 lead at the break.
  • After the half, Drake opened the third quarter with a 25-2 run that pushed the Bulldogs' lead as high as 55.
  • Sydne Caddy caught fire in the third period, helping provide an offensive spark for the Aces.
  • Caddy hit three-straight three-pointers on three-straight possessions to fuel her best scoring game of her collegiate career.
  • Despite Caddy's offense, Drake answered the Aces, maintaining a 55-point lead after three quarters.
  • The fourth quarter saw the deficit fluctuate for the Aces as the two sides traded baskets. Evansville scored 13 points in the period, but the Bulldogs offense continued to roll with 17 points in the quarter as Drake earned the 108-44 win.
Previewing the Matchup
  • Evansville and SIU are meeting for 61st time with the Salukis owning a 32-28 edge in the all-time series.
  • The Aces and Salukis last met in the 2018-19 regular season finale with SIU earning an 80-60 victory on March 9, 2019 inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
  • The Salukis are currently on a four-game winning-streak in the series with Evansville last earning a win in the series in a 74-61 road win on Feb. 17, 2017.
  • During the 2016-17 season, Evansville swept the season series with the Salukis with a 63-60 win at home and a 74-61 road win.
  • When freshman Abby Feit fouled-out of Sunday's game against Drake, she became the first Ace this season to foul-out of a game as Evansville has managed fouls well through 17 games this season.
  • For the second-straight game, sophomore Sydne Caddy saw increased playing time, playing a career-high 21 minutes and scoring a career-best nine points, hitting three three-pointers.
  • Sophomore A'Niah Griffin has missed four-straight games for the Aces due to injury. In those four games, Evansville averaged just 57.8 points per game and allowed 85.8 points per game.
  • The Salukis have faced a tough opening stretch of MVC opponents and has a 2-3 conference record to show for it. SIU has faced teams that are a combined 60-24 and four teams inside the top 100 in RPI.
  • SIU comes into Friday's matchup after an impressive win last week. The Salukis captured a 70-68 buzzer-beating victory over 17th-ranked Missouri State last Friday to move SIU to 2-3 in the MVC.
