EVANSVILLE - Rounding-out their altered weekend in The Hawkeye State, the University of Evansville women's basketball team will play the 21st-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes on Sunday, January 2 inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa.
The Aces and Iowa will tip-off at 11 AM (CT) and the game will be broadcast live on B1G Network.
"We are excited for the opportunity to play at Iowa. They reached out after they saw our game at UNI got postponed," said Aces head women's basketball coach Robyn Scherr-Wells. "Both of our programs have lost a couple of games due to Covid protocols and it is a great opportunity for both programs to give our players another chance to play a game."
After Thursday's game against UNI was postponed, Evansville's trip featured just one contest against Drake on New Year's Day in Des Moines, Iowa. The contest against the Hawkeyes will be Evansville's second in the last four seasons after facing Wisconsin in 2018-19 and Illinois in 2019-20. The game will be Evansville's first against a ranked non-conference opponent since taking on No. 20 Kentucky during the 2017-18 campaign.
"Iowa is a perennial tournament team and I am looking forward to seeing how our team will rise to the challenge. These are the types of games our program needs to be playing to get to where we want to go"
