EVANSVILLE – Becoming the fourth signing for the 2021-22 season, Australian Elly Morgan has signed with the University of Evansville women's basketball team.

Morgan joins teammate Kodie Myszka, transfer Celine Dupont, and local freshman Maycee Lange as signees for the upcoming campaign.

"I'm fired up that Elly has chosen to join us at UE," said Aces head women's basketball coach Robyn Scherr-Wells on Morgan's signing. "I've had the privilege of getting to know her for the last 8 months and I am so excited to be her coach. Elly brings, athleticism, toughness, and competitiveness to our program. She is strong in transition, can get to the rim, and shoot the 3. Her pace of play will elevate everyone around her. Her Dandenong team presses as much as we hope to, so she will be ready to play at our pace and our style of defense on day one."

Morgan comes to Evansville from Melbourne, Australia where she currently plays for Dandenong Rangers NBL1 team, along with recent UE signee Kodie Myszka. With the Rangers, Morgan is averaging nearly four points per contest, including a season-high 10 points in an overtime win over Mount Gambier on May 8.

"I am excited to come to UE to play and develop under Coach Robyn Scherr-Wells. The University of Evansville provides me with equal opportunities to be successful, both in the classroom and on the court. I can't wait to get started at UE!"

In addition to competing in the NBL1 league, Morgan is averaging 12 points, four rebounds, and nearly four assists with Dandenong in the youth league, recording a 23-point, seven-assist, and six-rebound effort against Ballarat.

Morgan has also represented Victoria in the U20 Australian Championships, capturing bronze.
