EVANSVILLE – Head Coach Robyn Scherr-Wells has announced her first addition to Evansville's women's basketball team for the 2021-22 season.
 
6-foot-4 forward Celine Dupont comes to Evansville, marking the first signing of the Scherr-Wells era, following two seasons at New Mexico. With the Lobos, Dupont redshirted in 2019-20 before seeing the floor in 10 contests during the 2020-21 campaign.
 
"I am thrilled that Celine has chosen to continue her academic studies and basketball career with us at UE," said Aces head women's basketball coach Robyn Scherr-Wells. "At 6-4, she will give us nice size and length inside and is truly my type of post player. She can take a rebound off the rim and is comfortable starting our transition. She has the ability to face up in the post and attack the rim in multiple ways and she has the versatility to step out and shoot the 3. She has gotten some college experience, but still has 4 years of eligibility left. I am so excited to see her grow as a player over the next 4 years and be a part of building our program into an MVC contender!"
 
A native of Almelo, Netherlands, Dupont enjoyed an impressive prep career, most recently playing for Parkendaal Lyceum. In her prep career, Dupont appeared in the Dutch National Women's U20 Basketball League with Binnenland, averaging a double-double with 14.6 points and 10.0 rebounds, while helping them win the national supercup in 2018 and advance to the final four in 2019.

"I chose UE because the moment I talked to the coaches it felt like a family," said Dupont. "I think I can improve myself at UE as much as possible on and off the court. I think it is a great academic school as well as basketball. I can't wait to start a new adventure at UE."
 
Dupont has also logged international experience, playing for the Dutch U16 and U18 national teams in FIBA European Championships.
