EVANSVILLE - As summer workouts continue, head coach Robyn Scherr-Wells and the University of Evansville women's basketball team has completed their coaching staff for the 2022-23 season.
Bringing a wealth of experience, Caleb Poston has been named the Aces Director of Basketball Operations.
"In a very impressive candidate pool, Caleb immediately rose to the top," said Scherr-Wells. "His positive energy and desire to help everyone around him be at their best was very apparent from my first conversation with him. His varied coaching experiences at the Division II and III levels combined with his experience of being a part of a Big 10 championship team as the Assistant Director of Video at Maryland was exactly what I was looking for. Caleb will play an important role in the growth of our program!"
Joining the Aces from Pittsburgh State University (Kansas), Poston most recently served as assistant coach for the Gorillas' women's basketball team. Poston helped Pittsburgh State to 16 wins a season ago with a strong offensive club averaging over 72 points per game.
"I am extremely grateful to join the Evansville family," said Poston. "From the first conversation I had with Coach I knew she was about winning while building a great family culture within the program. Coach Scherr-Wells has a great track record of building programs into winners, and having the chance to be a part of her staff while moving back closer to my family is an exciting opportunity. I can't wait to get to campus and get started.
Prior to his time with Pittsburgh State, Poston served for two seasons as the assistant director of video for Maryland. While with the Terrapins, Poston was part of a staff that won back-to-back Big Ten regular season and tournament championships.
Poston has also served as an assistant coach and junior varsity head coach at Covenant College in Georgia during the 2018-19 season.
Poston's coaching career began during in 2016 at Xavier University as the graduate assistant/video coordinator, earning his Master's in Coaching Education and Athlete Development.
A 2016 graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Poston holds a Bachelor's degree in sports administration.
