EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Evansville women's soccer forward Taylor Johnson (Evansville, Ind./Reitz) has been named to the Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference Team, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Johnson returns to Evansville for her senior season as a two-time All-Conference selection, landing on the All-MVC Second Team in 2025 after being a Third Team selection in 2024. Johnson took her game to the next level as a junior in 2025, posting single season career-highs in games played (16), starts (16), assists (3), points (9), shots (18), shots on goal (13), and minutes played (1,034). Johnson scored three goals on the year, ranking second on the team.
Johnson enjoyed a strong sophomore campaign in 2024, playing in all 16 matches, including 14 starts. The Evansville native saw 912 minutes of action and tied for the team lead with three goals. On October 13 against Valparaiso, Johnson became the first Ace since 2021 to secure a brace, scoring twice to help the Aces pick up a point on the road.
As a freshman in 2023, Johnson appeared in all 17 matches with three starts, scoring a goal and adding an assist for a total of three points. A two-sport standout, Johnson also excels for the UE Track & Field team, finishing second in the 400 meter hurdles at the MVC Outdoor Championships in 2026 and being named the MVC Women's Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Evansville opens the 2026 women's soccer season on Thursday, traveling to West Lafayette to take on Purdue. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. Central.
