PANORA, Iowa -- The University of Evansville golf team stands sixth after Friday's first round of the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship at par-72, 6081-yard Lake Panorama National Resort. UE's top four golfers shot between 77 and 79 to finish day one with a team score of 312, just 11 strokes behind leader and defending champion Illinois State.
Each team plays five, and counts the top four scores in each round. The second 18 holes are Saturday, followed by the final round of the 54-hole tournament on Sunday.
Sophomore
Emily Johnson had three birdies on the day and led UE with a 77. Freshman
Alyssa Key shot 78, beating her previous career low by three strokes.
