Normal, Ill. – The University of Evansville swimming & diving lost tonight in a very competitive match against Missouri Valley Conference rival Illinois State. The final score from Normal, Ill. was 180-110.

The Aces swam a solid meet as a team but tonight the Lady Aces top swimmer was Michaela Kent. Kent finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.62 and second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:07.48. She also was a part of the second place 400-yard freestyle relay team, made up of Kent, Mackenzie Harris, Mackenzie Powell and Maja Magnusson.

Fellow individual event winners were Danielle Freeman in the 50-yard free and Melissa Thurman in the 400-yard IM.

The Redbirds also swam a great meet, with the top swimmer being Rachel Root who finished second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 59.19 and first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:06.45.

UE will swim again in a dual meet tomorrow, Saturday Nov. 9, against Eastern Illinois at 11:30 a.m.
