EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women's soccer team will open their Alumni Weekend festivities on Thursday, hosting Lindenwood at Arad McCutchan Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
Defense Standing Tall
- Evansville has been stout defensively to begin the 2026 season, allowing just one goal through their first two games
- The only goal that the Aces have allowed came in the 13th minute of the season opener at Purdue. Since then, the Aces have kept a clean sheet over their last 167 minutes of play
- Goalkeeper Bri Chirpich was stellar in her Evansville debut at Purdue, making nine saves, the most by an Aces keeper since 2024 and the most by an Ace in their debut since at least 2005.
- Sophomore Emma Nathans got the start in goal last Thursday against SEMO and posted her first career shutout in the 2-0 win
Second Half Surge
- After going into halftime deadlocked at zero, the Purple Aces scored twice in the second half to take down SEMO in their home opener last Thursday
- Ella Hamner broke the scoreless tie in the 64th minute with a header off a corner kick from junior Brielle LaBerge
- Sophomore Izzie Ryan added to the Aces lead in the 85th minute, scoring her first career goal from long range. Freshman Mia Lancaster provided the assist in her first home game as an Ace.
Series History
- Thursday will be the third all-time meeting between Evansville and Lindenwood
- This marks the third consecutive year the Aces take on Lindenwood
- The Aces won the first-ever meeting between the two teams in Evansville in 2024, while the Lions won last year's meeting in Saint Charles.
Scouting Lindenwood
- Lindenwood enters Thursday's match with a 1-3 record
- The last time out for the Lions came on Sunday, a 1-0 defeat against DePaul
- Lindenwood finished last season with a 10-5-5 record and a 5-2-2 record in OVC play. The Lions reached the OVC Tournament championship, where they fell to Tennessee Tech
