Women’s Soccer Heads to Nashville

Nashville, Tenn. – The Aces are headed to E.S. Rose Park in Nashville for their fourth conference matchup of the season. Kickoff is set for Saturday at 1:00 PM CT. 

Last Time Out 

Evansville dropped their third conference game in a close 0-1 loss to Indiana State last week. Indiana State ranks fourth in the MVC and ranks first in goals and shots per game in the MVC. 

Both teams started strong defensively, only allowing a total of nine shots in the first half. Evansville's Bri Chirpich added four saves to her season total which now reaches 35.  Taylor Johnson and Brooklyn Robinson created the first two offensive opportunities with back to back shots that were blocked. Indiana State broke the stalemate in the 37' with a goal from Peyton Wetzel off an assist from Avery Oergel and Meagyn Riffle. With the loss Evansville falls to 2-5-1 and 0-3 in the MVC.  

Series History 

Evansville will look to take the lead in the series history against Belmont this Saturday. The programs sit at an even 4-4-2 record since their first matchup in 2012. Evansville won 2-1 in their matchup last season. In their 11th matchup against the Bruins, the Aces will look to secure the series title and their first conference win of the 2026 season. 

Scouting 

The Bruins have a 2-5-4 record this season coming off their 2-1 loss to Southern Illinois. Belmont sits sixth in the MVC with a 1-2 conference record. Belmont posts a 2-1-2 record at home with their most recent home win being their 5-2 victory against UIC. Saturday's matchup will be Belmont's senior night.
